How will these tests help?

The group of tests that you have been prescribed will help us to understand why you have been experiencing anaphylaxis. Anaphylaxis is an acute allergic reaction which can cause a range of symptoms, including difficulty breathing, skin rash and a drop in blood pressure

The first group of tests will help us to determine whether the anaphylaxis is caused by an allergic reaction. The Immunoglobulin E (IgE) Test, Total IgE Test, Allergen Specific IgE Test, Eosinophil Count Test, Urinary Histamine Test and Serum Histamine Test will measure the levels of certain proteins and hormones in your system which can indicate the presence of an allergy

The second group of tests will provide us with more information on the effects that the anaphylaxis is having on your body. The Complete Blood Count (CBC) will allow us to measure the number of white blood cells in your system, which can indicate the presence of a reaction

The Complement C3 and C4 Test will measure the levels of certain proteins in your system which can help us to understand how your immune system is responding to the allergic reaction. Finally, the Urinary Leukotriene Test and Serum Tryptase Test will measure the levels of certain hormones in your system which can help us to understand the severity of the allergic reaction

By completing these tests, we will be able to gain a better understanding of why you are experiencing anaphylactic symptoms, and we will be able to provide you with the best course of treatment.
