How will these tests help?
The group of tests that you will be undergoing will help us understand why you are experiencing discomfort during intimate moments. We will be doing a complete blood count (CBC) with differential, C-Reactive Protein (CRP), hormone testing (Testosterone, Estrogen, Progesterone, etc.), urinalysis, a laparoscopy, a pelvic ultrasound, a pelvic MRI, a pelvic CT scan, an endometrial biopsy, a urine culture, cytology, Chlamydia and Gonorrhea testing, and HIV testing
The first group of tests, which includes the CBC, CRP, hormone testing, urinalysis, and urine culture, will help us determine if your discomfort during intimate moments is due to an underlying medical condition. The CBC will help us identify any infection or inflammation that may be causing your discomfort
The CRP will tell us if you have inflammation in your body. The hormone testing will help us determine if your hormones are balanced
The urinalysis will help us check for any abnormal substances or cells in your urine. Finally, the urine culture will help us identify any infection in your urinary tract that may be causing your discomfort
The second group of tests, which includes the laparoscopy, pelvic ultrasound, pelvic MRI, pelvic CT scan, endometrial biopsy, and cytology, will help us determine if your discomfort during intimate moments is due to structural issues in the reproductive system. The laparoscopy will allow us to directly observe your reproductive organs
The pelvic ultrasound, pelvic MRI, and pelvic CT scan will help us create an image of the reproductive organs and identify any abnormalities or blockages. The endometrial biopsy will help us identify any abnormalities in the uterine lining
Finally, the cytology will help us better understand the cells that are present in the reproductive organs.
