What is this test?

Our red blood cells have a life of 90 days, and new cells are constantly created. During their life, red cells take up sugar from the blood, and store it. HBA1C (Glycosylated Hemoglobin) is a blood test which measures the sugar bound to these red blood cells. For this reason it provides the average sugar value over the last 90 days.
