Plastic Collection Can

The lab will provide you with a plastic can, which can hold upto 10 liters of liquid. The can has a preservative in it. This preservative prevents bacteria from degrading the urine sample

When to collect

The sample collection should begin at 7 am in the morning.Every successive sample should be collected for a period of 24 hours in the same can.

Urinary Catecholamines

This is the most common indication for 24 hour urine collection. Increased catecholamines are seen in a condition called pheochromocytoma which causes high blood pressure.,
