The group of tests you are undergoing will help us understand why you are experiencing excessive facial hair growth. We are conducting a Androgen Hormone Panel, Ferritin Level, Free and Total Testosterone, Estradiol, Prolactin, Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH), Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH), Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), Cortisol, and Dihydrotestosterone (DHT)
The first group of tests will measure the levels of androgens in your body. Androgens are hormones that primarily promote male characteristics, such as facial hair growth
The tests we are conducting will measure the levels of androgens, such as testosterone and DHT, in your body to determine if there is an abnormally high level which is causing your excessive facial hair growth. The second group of tests are related to other hormones that may be causing an imbalance in the body
We will be measuring the levels of hormones such as estradiol, prolactin, TSH, FSH, and cortisol to determine if any of these hormones are out of balance and contributing to your abnormal facial hair growth. In short, these tests will help us determine if there is an imbalance in your hormones that is causing your excessive facial hair growth.
